well where to begin. in about 7 hours my time, it will have been one week since i left the states and headed to edinburgh which is one of the most amazing places. it's filled with old stone building and even "new town" edinburgh looks very cool and older with a couple really contemporary and modern buildings thrown in. they even have a gap and yes, i did get a picture. the clothes in the gap are even more stylish and put a new spin on the basics.

lauren and i arrived at our hostel a little past 10am and as soon as we got our luggage to the lockers we went straigh away on a walking tour with our really cool tour guide marty! he was a lot of fun and showed us the little ins and outs of the town which really came in handy in getting around/becoming aquainted with the town in the next four days or so...

we got settled in, napped and then had paninis with our friend achim, coffee and bagels the next morning and then checked out, spent time in a beautiful park looking up to the edinburgh castle, walked princes shopping street, lunch and then headed to our hotel for orientation a little ways down the street. there were about 19 of us UC students studying at leeds and sheffield and we all got along sooo well. it was such an amazing group who really stuck by one another and it's soo great to have familiar faces in leeds already :)

we had a couple meetings on logistics for traveling abroad and a lot of time to grab lunch or dinner, visit the study centre to use internet and to walk around, hang out and we went on a ghost tour, saw the edinburgh castle, hung out at an cafe that had wireless, went to a bar, walked around...a lot, walked up about 4/5 miles to arthur's seat, got cell phones, and went out to a live music venue. bloody fantastic.

train ride at 6am not so fantastic but it was fun and went a lot smoother than we thought and got to leeds!!
